Qollab is a community-based and collaborative research lab promoting the participation of 2S/LGBTQIA+ people in research. Focused on a better understanding of mental health and substance use issues, our mission is to support the development of health promotion interventions for 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities.
Qollab is directed by Olivier Ferlatte, professor at l’École de Santé Publique de l’Université de Montréal and research scientist at the Centre de recherche en santé publique (CReSP). Olivier holds a Junior One new investigator award from the Fonds de recherche du Québec (Santé).
David Ortiz Paredes, Tara Chanady, Kinda Wassef, Rod Knight and Olivier Ferlatte authored a publication that explored the mental healthcare access experiences of LGBTQ+ youth who consume cannabis.
Olivier Ferlatte, director of Qollab and professor at the Université de Montréal's School of Public Health, and Elisabeth Dromer, former Qollab student, are interviewed in the podcast series "Fais un homme de toi".
2S/LGBTQIA+ communities are disproportionately impacted by suicide, but suicide prevention interventions for this population are lacking.
