Awarded annually to a Master of Public Health graduate who demonstrates strong potential to contribute to the development of the field, this award recognizes Simon’s commitment to research conducted with LGBTQ+ communities and his desire to help build a more equitable public health system.
As part of his master’s degree, supervised by Professor Olivier Ferlatte, Simon explored help-seeking in the context of suicidality among LGBTQ+ youth in rural Quebec. His research highlighted the importance of these young people’s lived experience in better understanding their realities and identifying ways to improve access to services.
