Cannapix - Cellphilms

The Cannapix - Cellphilm project explored the experiences and harm reduction strategies of LGBTQ+ youth who use cannabis. Using the cellphilm method - a participatory, video-based approach - this project engaged 30 young people aged 18 to 24 living in Quebec, in three online workshops. During these workshops, participants created short videos (cellphilms) that shered their strategies for reducing the risks related to cannabisus and improving their well-being.

This project was conducted in collaboration with members of the Jeunes Chercheur.e.s Queers program, who played a key role in data collection and analysis.

The cellphilm produced provides an authentic glimpse into the daily practices and self-care practices of LGBTQ+ when using cannabis. By sharing their experiences, this project contributes to a deeper understanding of harm reduction practices in LGBTQ+ communities.

We invite you to watch the cellphilms and join us in reflecting on ways to support safer and more pleasurable cannabis use.
